1920 Spanish Mission-Style Home Remodel & Interior Painting in Lincoln, Nebraska

This 1920 Spanish Mission-style two-story home underwent a substantial transformation while retaining the character of the original house. The project included converting the breakfast nook into a new bathroom, completely remodeling the kitchen—including removing an existing window to create additional cabinet space and properly stuccoing the exterior opening—and removing an outdated, undersized bathroom to create a much larger primary bathroom from an existing bedroom. Throughout the home, the original lath-and-plaster walls were removed and replaced with new drywall, with insulation added where needed. We replaced the windows and rebuilt both the interior and exterior window trim, completed new interior painting throughout the home, upgraded the fireplace with a new mantle and refinished the existing brick mortar, and installed new lighting throughout. The result was a modernized, functional home that preserves the character and architectural details of this nearly century-old Spanish Mission-style residence.

Deck Rebuild - Tecumseh

What started as a simple repair of a few rotten deck boards quickly became a complete deck rebuild. Once we removed the damaged boards, we discovered that the rot extended throughout the entire deck surface, all of the joists, and even the ledger board attaching the deck to the house.

The deteriorated structure had to be completely removed, along with several rotten support posts. We replaced the damaged supports, installed a new ledger and framing system, and built a completely new deck surface.

Rather than simply covering up the visible damage, we addressed the underlying structural problems and rebuilt the deck from the ground up, giving the homeowners a safe, solid, and long-lasting outdoor space.

Historic Shed Restoration - Sterling 

This early-1900s shed had seen better days. Years of settling and deterioration had left the structure leaning badly and at risk of falling down.

Rather than tear it down and replace it, we carefully straightened the structure, secured it in place, and restored the original doors so they opened and closed properly again. We were also able to preserve the original hardware, keeping the character and history of the building intact.

The result was a structurally sound, functional shed that retained the look and character of the original early-1900s structure.

Blue River Early Learning Academy in Crete - Painting Makeover

We recently refreshed the Blue River Early Learning Academy in Crete, Nebraska, completing the work over weekends so the school could continue its normal schedule without disruption.

The project included removing outdated bulletin boards, wooden cubbyholes, TV mounts, and other wall-mounted items the school no longer needed. We repaired and prepared the drywall where those items had been removed, then gave the spaces a fresh coat of paint.

Working on a tight weekend schedule, we made sure each area was cleaned, organized, and ready for students and staff when the school reopened Monday morning. The result was a cleaner, brighter, and refreshed learning environment with minimal disruption to the school.

Complete Kitchen Remodel

This kitchen remodel began with a major structural problem: the existing floor had rotted to the point that the entire kitchen had to be removed down to the joists.

We leveled and repaired the existing joists, installed a new subfloor, and rebuilt the room from the ground up. The old plaster and lath were removed and replaced with new drywall. We also removed an outdated window and installed a new bay window, including repairing the exterior siding around the new window.

The kitchen was updated with new gas and electrical service, new upper and lower cabinets, and a new water line for the refrigerator. We installed the refrigerator and stove and completed the room with a classic black-and-white checkerboard tile floor.

The result was a completely transformed kitchen with updated infrastructure, improved functionality, and a timeless new design.
